The Neurology Service at the University of Florida’s Veterinary
Medical Teaching Hospital is committed to the state-of-the-art care of
neurologic patients throughout Florida and the Southeast. The Service
is founded on the principle of teaching, service and research. The
faculty are noted for their innovative approaches to teaching. The
Service assists clients with patients suffering from a wide range of
neurologic and neurosurgical disorders, providing advanced clinical
care. Research into basic and applied sciences is performed by the
Faculty, but is independent of their clinic duties.
The Neurology Service is by referral appointment only, on Monday
and Wednesday mornings. Emergencies are seen as indicated through
consultation with the client's referring veterinarian. For further
information about having a patient examined by the Service, contact the
Small Animal Clinic Reception Desk at (352) 392-2235.
The Neurology Service cannot answer direct questions about
specific
cases via the internet, it is not considered a sufficient standard to
establish a valid client-patient-veterinarian relationship. These files
are used for teaching our veterinary students and offered as general
educational information. They should not be used solely as a means to
diagnose or treat a condition. If you are not in our referral area and
direct examination of your pet by the Neurology Service is not
possible, then you may want to search for the closest neurologist at
the ACVIM Neurology Database. If
you need help with Integrative Medicine questions, you
can seek the closest CAVM practitioner at the Database of the AHVMA (American
Holistic
Veterinary Medical Association).
