Logging on to the Neurology Chat Server

Once you have checked the System Requirements and downloaded and installed the correct software, you are ready to logon to the Neurology Ichat ROOMS Server. Before you can actually enter the Neurology Chat area, you must establish a USER ID and a PASSWORD. When you set up your account, please include your real name and email address for messages from the Neurology Service about upcoming events and changes in Server activities. Please write them down and remember them!

You can now enter the Chat area by entering your USER ID and PASSWORD in the appropriate space. Choose the manner to access the Server (i.e. Ichat-pluggin, JAVA or HTML) and click on the "Log Me In!" button. You should now be logged onto the Server and be placed in the last location you were at or in the Entry Room for first time users. Ichat offers help with commands and navigation. It is wise to plan ahead and practice logging on and navigating in the rooms before a scheduled event so as to prevent last minute frustration.

Notice: AOL Users must download Netscape to access the Neurology Chat Server. Also watch for those pesky "time-out for inactivity" messages from AOL.
